Children on the autism spectrum commonly have difficulty processing auditory information. These children learn more effectively through visual modality. This workshop will demonstrate ways to enhance the child with autism’s ability to communicate, and enhance the understanding of what is expected through the use of various visual systems. Topics that will be covered include: using pictures to communicate, schedules and tab systems in addition to many others. Participants will come away with an understanding of how to incorporate visual strategies throughout a student’s day. Level 1.
